Brandon enters NCAA transfer portal

The Griffin has received confirmation that men’s basketball senior Majesty Brandon has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal and will be leaving the program as a graduate transfer.

Brandon, a native of Bronx N.Y., joined the Griffs for the 2019-20 season as a JUCO transfer out of Monroe Community College and starred in two seasons, averaging 13.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game across 45 appearances. He shot 32.9% from three-point range in his time with Canisius. He was the Griffs’ second-leading scorer this past season with 12.2 points per game after being the leading scorer during the 2019-20 campaign.

He also gained notoriety during the 2019-20 season for his free throw routine, which went viral on social media and made an appearance on ESPN.

Verbalcommits.com was the first to report on this story. According to the site, there are over 1,100 names currently in the NCAA’s Division I portal. As a grad transfer, he will have one season of eligibility as his next school.
