Men’s basketball guard Majesty Brandon was named to the preseason All-MAAC second team on Thursday night.

Brandon, a senior out of New York City in his second year with the Griffs, averaged 13.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game over 32 games, averaging just under 29 minutes per game, making five starts. He also led the Griffs with 60 three-pointers made, including a game-winning three in the final second against Marist on February 2. He averaged 15.4 points per game in conference play, good for sixth in the league.

His fellow members of the second team were Asante Gist and Isaiah Ross of Iona, Warren Williams of Manhattan and Tyrese Williams of Quinnipiac.

As for the preseason rankings, the men were picked by the coaches to finish 10th in the league, second to last, only ahead of Rider, and the women were picked to finish 11th.

A non-conference schedule for either team has not been announced from either team yet, but at the latest the season will begin in early December.
