The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference released the men’s and women’s conference schedules for basketball on Tuesday.
The men’s team will open up its conference slate with a home game on Dec. 8 against Fairfield, the first of a two-game homestand that sees them face Monmouth three days later.
They will then face Quinnipiac and Manhattan in back-to-back road games on Dec. 15 and 18, before an 11-day conference layoff before home games against Iona, headlined by new head coach and basketball hall of fame inductee Rick Pitino on Dec. 29, and then a New Years’ Day game against Marist. They welcome defending MAAC champions Siena to town on Jan. 12.
The Griffs face Niagara for the first time on Jan. 19 at the Gallagher Center on Monteagle Ridge, the second Battle of the Bridge matchup is the final home game of the season for the Griffs on March 2. The Griffs finish up the regular season on March 5 with a road game against Siena.
As for the women, they open their conference slate with back-to-back road games against St. Peter’s and Monmouth on Dec. 9 and 12, before the conference home opener against defending MAAC champion Rider on Dec. 16, a two-game home slate where the second game pits them against Quinnipiac on Dec. 19.
The first Battle of the Bridge game for the women will be on Jan. 27 at the Gallagher Center, and then their final home game will also be against Niagara on March 3, before closing out the regular season slate on March 6, on the road against Fairfield.
The MAAC Tournament will be held in Atlantic City, N.J. for the second straight year, on March 9-13. Non-conference schedules for the men and women are expected to be released at a later date.
