A member of the Canisius community has tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus, President John J. Hurley said in an email to the campus Friday afternoon.
The unidentified individual was last on campus on Monday, March 23, and is currently in isolation at home. It is the first positive case reported by a member of the Canisius campus community.
Canisius will not publicly release the identities of those who test positive. Anyone who may have come in direct contact with a confirmed case will be notified by the school.
President Hurley urges students and staff to self-monitor their health for 14 days.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is available.
