The Bar-Bill Tavern’s first location opened in East Aurora, N.Y. in 1967, and has since then won over the hearts of Buffalo residents. The Bar-Bill Tavern recently opened a new location earlier this month in Clarence, N.Y.
The new location has attracted a lot of people, some locals even claim this is the best place in Buffalo to get wings. Their main menu items are chicken wings, beef on weck, chicken fingers and the Bar-Bill special, a sandwich consisting of roast beef, ham and American or swiss cheese on toasted rye. This meal as well as the beef on weck is served with a pickle and chips every day until 10 p.m. Although their menu is limited, they claim they prepare their food as well as they can and certainly attract a large crowd every day.
The new location does not take reservations or do takeout at this time. Their typical wait time is 45 minutes to an hour, occasionally being longer on the weekends. The East Aurora location has a shorter wait time during the week, but is also busy. Wait times for that location can be up to one hour, especially during the summer.
The East Aurora location has become even busier since the new location opened. The owner of both locations, Clark Crook, claims that may be because the new location is getting a lot of people’s attention. He also claims that it is great doing business in the Clarence area. “The neighborhood here in Clarence and Williamsville have been very friendly and welcoming,” he said.
The new location, located at 8326 Main St. in Clarence, N.Y., is open Monday-Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. The East Aurora location, located at 185 Main St. in the village of East Aurora, is open Monday-Sunday from 11:30 a.m.- 2 a.m. The East Aurora location also has a separate takeout location located at 191 Main St. Rear East Aurora, N.Y. and is open Monday-Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
After visiting their website, customers are given the option to become a Bar Bill VIP. As a Bar Bill VIP, customers will receive updates on any special events either location is having, new menu items, menu reviews, as well as other updates.
The Bar-Bill Tavern is one of many local restaurants that leaves Buffalo residents smiling after they finish their meal. “I just want to thank all of Western New York for being so kind, we really appreciate it and will continue doing the best that we can,” Crook stated.
